Something

Matters

Abi Reeves

matter into matter,

stardust into desert

dust, just

life cycling

energy turning:

old stars are burning, leaving

space for space.

invisible rays and waves defy

nothingness, showing something,

flowing, breaking time

apart, bending sound and light

around. See the cosmic background glow,

know of things before this

and things to be,

for instance (or eternity):

the miracle formation of bright

blinking stars, born

when blinking eyes

see

boundless nights, fall

shut forever, trailing stardust in

blind legacy.
