n' = n -1

Luke De Dominicis

Chaos, ineffable boundary,

where understanding fails,

and we hope,

eventually,

to find Order,

thence knowledge.

Language, discourse, description, closure,

metaphor embodied

grasp at that physicality.

The only one you will ever know,

the cage of our comprehension.

Entropy and disorder.

Bank accounts of the greedy.

The price of beer.

Universal increase.

How many more ways are there?

Of being, disordered.

One feels how precious is that rhythm,

to set a watch by.

Thus progresses matter,

down its gradient,

to that most disordered of orders,

stated and summed in a few terms,

oration after the fact.

Unknowable yet predictable.

Uniform randomness.
